Last Post Productions is an Auckland-based production house managed by brother-and-sister team Michael and Linda Hughes.
Last Post Productions is infused with the spirit of low-production filmmaking – fierce budgeting, hard work, collaboration, strong storytelling skills and the love the of the medium. Our focus is to produce creatively challenging media projects that are commercially viable productions on microbudgets. The projects we embark on all speak to us in some way – ensuring there is plenty of room for enthusiasm and innovation.
Our debut feature film, Me, You, Mankosi (produced in its entirety for less than NZ $26,000), is currently enjoying a successful run on the international film festival circuit, and we have several projects in development – local and international co-productions. We welcome collaboration partners and consider all treatments sent in to us for potential development and co-production through Last Post Productions.
LINDA HUGHES
Linda has spent the last ten years working in the film, television, radio and online industries in New Zealand and United Kingdom. Linda’s accolades include Best Children’s Short at the Italian Film Festival 2002 (Producer) and ten years of New Business and Production Management at award-winning production houses, studios and channels in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, including Weta Workshop and the Discovery Channel.
MICHAEL HUGHES
Michael is a filmmaker and teacher based in Auckland, New Zealand. Michael holds an MA, MEdMgmt and DipTchng (Sec), has taught media and video production at several high schools in the Auckland area and currently holds the position of Deputy Principal at Pakuranga College.
